Irwin W. Engle

Irwin Wolgemuth Engle, 70, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Lancaster General Hospital.  He was born Tuesday, April 18, 1944 in Marietta to the late Irwin and Alice (Wolgemuth) Engle.  He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Grace E. (Lehman) Engle.

He graduated from Elizabethtown Area High School in 1962 and was a 10th generation farmer on the homestead farm, Marietta.  Early in his farming career he was actively involved with the F.F.A. and Young Farmers.  He won various awards and accolades for farming over the years and built and sold John Deere toy tractors for Engle Farm Toys.  He was the owner of Engle Mowing Service and attended Mount Joy Baptist Church.

He is survived by a daughter, Daphne Sellers and husband Michael of Mount Joy; a grandson, William Sellers; four siblings, Jacob W. Engle and wife Naomi, Arlene Brownsburger and husband Abram, Anna Ruth Engle, and Melvin R. Engle and wife Laurie.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 16 ^th at Noon at Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ Church, 996 East High Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 with Pastor Jonathan Bixler officiating.  Burial will follow in Cross Roads Church Cemetery, Mount Joy.  Family and friends are invited for viewing on Thursday, January 15 ^th from 6 to 8 PM at the church and from 11 AM until time of the service at the church.  Miller-Sekely Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown has been entrusted with the arrangements.
