Irene (Toncler/Dickert/Andrews) Weaver, 79, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 3, 2025. She was born April 5, 1946, to the late Andrew and Irene (Andrews) Toncler. She is survived by her loving husband, John R. Weaver.
Graduate of Portage Area High School class of 1964, she was a state champion majorette. After high school she went on to get her nursing degree. She spent 25 years in labor and delivery and ultimately retired from the American Red Cross after 12 years of blood donor services. She was a lifelong supporter of her local library, most recently the Lebanon Community Library. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, reading, knitting, decluttering, doing puzzles, Wordle, musicals, playing mini golf, and simplicity. More than anything she was a loving wife, mother, and “grammie”.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Jill Britton (Ron), Gail Dickert (Yanina), and Gwen Townsend (Eric); stepchildren, Christina Piatak, and Kathleen Raptosh (Edward); grandchildren, Genesis and Gabriel; step grandchildren, Kristie, Troy, and Collette; step great grandchildren, Vinny and Evelyn; and brother, John (Nancy). She is predeceased by her stepdaughter, Brenda Chapman.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025 at 11AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 300 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078. Viewings will be held from 10AM until the start of mass and Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 5 PM to 7 PM at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Johnstown, PA.
