Ingeborg Beidleman (Inge) lived a happy, full and active life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Inge peacefully passed away on January 30, 2026 at Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.

Inge celebrated 67 years of marriage with Dr. Carl R. Beidleman.

She was born on October 27, 1932, in Kingston, PA and grew up in Forty Fort, PA. She was the daughter of Ernest Ludwig and Kätchen (Streuwind) Becker. Inge graduated from the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital Nursing School as a Registered Nurse in 1953 and whole heartedly enjoyed her work as a Visiting Nurse. The next year she met a handsome young Lafayette College Engineer, Carl, from Wilkes-Barre. They married in 1955 and raised three children-Mark, Susan & David.

The family was active in the Lutheran church community and together they enjoyed countless camping trips, especially exploring the American National Parks. In 1971 they took their first extended family trip to Europe to meet the diaspora of wonderful cousins as Inge’s parents had maintained written correspondence for decades. They later enjoyed sabbaticals in Germany and Finland.

Inge was an RN in industry before her children were born and later in life served as a member of the Visiting Nurses Assoc. & Hospice. She also diligently participated in Harvard University’s 50 year long, National Study of Nurses since its inception in 1976. She was active with Lehigh University’s Women's Auxiliary & International Students Committee. Among endowments established at Lehigh University and Lafayette College, she established the Ingeborg Beidleman Health Professions Scholarship at Elizabethtown College.

Inge thoroughly enjoyed celebrating all of the holidays and especially strove to make Christmas a delightful and memorable season. Over the years she and Carl hosted many social gatherings highlighted by their 20 foot, wax candle and sparkler lit Christmas tree. In 1923, Inge’s uncle & father immigrated to the USA from Darmstadt, Germany, supported by family in NY & PA. Soon after, the 2 brother’s married mother & daughter, Käte & Kätchen from Bremen, Germany. Inge grew up near the Susquehanna river in a busy, multigenerational & elegant household. Pennsylvania Dutch, Carl embraced Inge’s cherished family traditions.

Inge was a creative talent, enjoying sewing, floral arranging, calligraphy, papierschneiden, thoughtfully designing greeting cards and innovative fiber arts. Her favorite mediums were upscaling jeans and colorful hand quilting. She was a prolific & sellable artist into her 94th year. Inge gifted baby quits for decades, and designed gorgeous quilts for her whole family. She was member of the Paupack quilting group & a founding member of the Masonic Quilt Auxiliary that helps to raise funds for the Bleiler Cottage at Masonic Village.

Inge and Carl designed, built and landscaped 2 homes together in Pennsylvania. The First was their family home in Saucon Valley, where they lived for 30 years. The Second was their retirement dream on Fairview Lake in the Poconos “where cousins got to know each other”. Their family continues to enjoy campfires in the woods. Inge will be remembered for her love of the arts, the joy that she brought to so many through her creative endeavors, her wild flower gardens, her love of nature, inquisitive spirit and true devotion to her family.

Surviving are three children: Mark C. Beidleman and his wife Debbie, of Dallas, Texas; Susan A. Pearson of Bermuda & Red Bank, NJ; and David C. Beidleman and his wife Renie, of Lititz, PA; Five grandchildren Megan & husband Andrew; Shelley & husband Jacques; Erik & wife Lauren; Nicole; Alexander and four great grandchildren, Hunter; Maëlys, Hugo, & Anïs. Inge was predeceased in death by her husband, Dr. Carl R. Beidleman, her brother, Olaf Karl Becker, and sister, Miriam Becker Good.
