HOWARD C. SIPLING
Howard C. Sipling, 87, of The Masonic Village, Elizabethtown and formerly of Marietta, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at The Masonic Village.
He was born on February 1, 1926 in Rowenna, PA to the late Raymond M. and Estella (Clausen) Sipling. He was a graduate of Wickersham High School and was a farmer until his retirement. After retiring from farming, he worked for Greiner Industries for approximately 12 years.
He was a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Maytown, PA for 50 years. He enjoyed working hard and staying busy, but in addition he liked singing in the church choir, playing pinocle, and -- most of all -- spending time with his family.
Howard was the widower of Dorothy Neiman Sipling.
Surviving are his two sons Bruce L. Sipling and his wife Linda of Lancaster, Scott H. Sipling and his wife Mary Margaret of Johns Creek, GA; his two sisters Marie Deitrich of Lancaster, Verna Brosey of Bainbridge; and his six grandchildren: Kristen, Eric, Chesson, Rachel, Grace and Sam.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday, February 21, 2013 in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 11 North Queen Street Maytown, with Rev. Robert Lescallette officiating. Burial will be in Maytown Union Cemetery.
Viewings will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at the Miller-Sekely Funeral Home and from 10am until 11am on Thursday, February 21, 2013 in the church.
Arrangements are under the care of the Miller-Sekely Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. of Elizabethtown.
