Howard W. “Howie” Leonard, Jr., 74, of Palmyra, PA passed away peacefully with family by his side on Sunday, March 22, 2026. He was born in Oak Bluffs, MA to the late Howard W. Leonard, Sr. and Marjorie (Jackman) Leonard. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 50 years, Helen (Tam) Leonard.

Howie was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and went on to be a CPA and partner of an accounting firm in Keene, New Hampshire. He enjoyed running, so much so that he ran approximately 60,000 miles until he was 71 years old. He also was a volunteer for several community organizations, especially in the New Hampshire area. Howie also was a semi-professional clown who enjoyed entertaining children. More than anything, he enjoyed coaching children and being there for his kids’ and grandkids’ activities.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, William, and Kem and husband David; four grandsons; two brothers; four sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Service details will be published upon completion, burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Oak Bluffs, MA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17110, any organization dedicated to the research of ALS, or to any charity of choice.
