Hoffer Kreider Smith
December 14, 1925 — October 25, 2018
Hoffer K. Smith, 92, formerly of Elizabethtown, went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 25, 2018, at United Zion Retirement Community, Lititz. Born December 14, 1925, he was the son of the late Benjamin W. and Minnie (Kreider) Smith. He was married to Martha M. (Schreiner) Smith for over 45 years until her death on June 29, 1993.
He is survived by three children: Judy A. Smith of Huntersville, NC; David H. Smith, husband of Mary Jane, of Manheim and Ruth H. Smith, of Elizabethtown; two grandchildren, Benjamin Smith, husband of Christie and Jason Smith; and two great grandchildren, Logan and Lyla Smith.
He is also survived by five siblings: Darlene Lamberson, Helen Rhoads, Shirley Morrison, Robert and Wayne Smith; and predeceased by six siblings: Ruth Forry, Lorraine Heisey, Jay, Benjamin, Eugene and James Smith.
A celebration of Hoffer’s life will be held at 11 AM (Visitation 10-11 AM) on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022, 717-367-1543. Private interment will be in Chiques Hill Cemetery, Manheim.
