Helen E. Drescher

Helen E. (Helsley) Drescher, 91, of Elizabethtown, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Masonic Village. Born in Highspire, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Laura (Wannamaker) Helsley. She was widowed by her husband Clifford A. Drescher, Sr. in 2013.

Helen was a long-time member of the First Church of God in Elizabethtown. She was well known in the Elizabethtown community due to her longstanding position at Elizabethtown Trust and Farmer’s First bank. She also worked as an office manager at J.B. Athletic, and later as an office worker at Longenecker’s Hatchery.  She won many first place awards at the Elizabethtown Fair for her crocheting, knitting and needle pointing. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed playing the piano. She will be fondly remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is survived by her three children: Ronald L. Drescher (Terri) of Oviedo, FL, John R. Drescher (Brenda) of Elizabethtown, and Don A. Drescher (Violet) of Longlois, OR; five grandchildren: Sandy, Steven, Bear, Lori, and Jamie; twelve great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Clifford A. Drescher, Jr. and sister Geraldine Helsley.

A Funeral Service will be held at noon on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the Sell Chapel of Masonic Village, 1 Masonic Dr., Elizabethtown, PA 17022 with Dr. Michael Walker officiating. A viewing will be held from 11-noon prior to the service. Private burial will be at Geyer’s Church Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N.
