Hazel M. (Miller) Hawthorne

Hazel M. Hawthorne, 92, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Born, Saturday, May 16, 1931 in Florin, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Pauline (Musser) Miller. She was married 67 years to Lester M. Hawthorne who passed away May 24, 2017.
Hazel was a longtime member of Mount Calvary Church, Elizabethtown, where she was active with the choir and the Rest Home Ministry. She also sang with the Miller Sisters Trio. Hazel had a servant’s heart and spent time visiting those that were homebound. Most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
She is survived by 4 children, Bonnie Bair and husband Denny, Douglas Hawthorne and wife Beth Sigmund, Diane Price and husband Keenan, and Philip Hawthorne; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister Jean Lichty. Hazel was predeceased by a sister Pauline Frey and a brother Robert Miller.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Mount Calvary Church, 625 North Holly Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are invited for viewing from 9:30 until the time of service. Interment will take place in West Green Tree Cemetery.
