Harold E. Weaver

Harold Ebersole Weaver, 98, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at ManorCare, Elizabethtown.  He was born March 11, 1917 in West Donegal Township to the late Frank H. and Jennie (Ebersole) Weaver.  He and his wife, Ethel R. (Fauby) Weaver shared 42 years together until her passing on November 25, 1992.

A Veteran of WWII, Harold proudly served with the U.S. Army Air Force.  He went on to retire from RCA, Lancaster where he worked for over 20 years. Harold was a long-time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, and St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Harold was an avid sports fan, especially Phillies baseball. He was athletic and known for his acrobatic antics. Harold played the guitar and mandolin with family and enjoyed both big band and country-western music.

He is survived by two daughters, Patricia A. Rosendale, wife of Wayne, of Dillsburg and Jill R. Gebhart, of Elizabethtown; a step-daughter, Peggie D. Suitch, wife of Charles, of Downingtown; six grandchildren, Brianna Shoenfelt, wife of Matthew, Erin Wallach, Colby Brown, Charles Suitch, Jr., Arthur Suitch, and Stephen Suitch; and two brothers, Gerald Weaver, husband of Emily and Michael Weaver, both of Elizabethtown.  He was predeceased by four siblings: Anna Ruhl, Wilbur, Frank, and Betty Jane Weaver.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, February 22, 2016 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 398 North Locust Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022 with Pastor Skip Davis officiating.  Burial will follow in Mount Tunnel Cemetery, Elizabethtown with military honors.  A viewing will be held at the church from 10 AM until the time of the service on Monday.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022, 717-367-1543.
