Greta Ruth (Sloat) Miller

Greta Ruth (Sloat) Miller, 84, formerly of Elizabethtown, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016 at Willow Valley. Born Wednesday, September 9, 1931 in Elizabethtown, she was the daughter of the late Irvin C. and Ethel (Kautz) Sloat. She was the wife of Aaron Miller, Jr. who died in 2007.

Greta was a 1953 graduate of the Lancaster General Hospital Registered Nursing program. After graduation she moved to Rochester, NY and then to southern California, where she met and married Aaron in 1957. After starting their family, they moved back to Pennsylvania in 1962 and settled in Aston. Greta spent her life compassionate and considerate of  others; dedicated to her nursing profession,  Greta worked for over 30 years at Crozer-Chester Medical Center.   She and Aaron were devoted members of Aston Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon.

After retirement, she and Aaron moved to Elizabethtown and spent their Octobers in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Greta is predeceased by her beloved husband Aaron Miller Jr,, her brothers Graham Sloat, Urban Sloat and sisters Grace Sloat and Lorraine Helm.  She is survived by her son Michael (Kim Hoover) Miller, daughter Susan (Gary) Nuyannes,  many nieces and nephews, and life long friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016 from Aston Presbyterian Church, 2401 Baldwin Run Road, Aston, PA 19014; visitation with the family will be at 11:00 am followed by the service at 12:00 pm. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
