Glenda Carol (White) Appleby, 80, of Palmyra, passed away with family by her side on Sunday, October 13, 2013 in Spang Crest Manor, Lebanon. She was born Wednesday, February 22, 1933 in Huntingdon, PA to the late Pearl Violet (Albright) White. She was predeceased in 2004 by her loving husband David R. Appleby.
Glenda was a faithful member of Palmyra First United Methodist Church as well a member of the Red Hat Society. She took pride in her garden and her flowers, particularly her orchids. She greatly enjoyed going out to eat and spending time with her family. Most importantly Glenda was a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by a son, Theodore “Ted” D. Appleby and wife Sally of Lawn; a daughter, Susan E. McGahey and husband Kevin of Ambler; and 4 grandchildren, Caleb and Corey Appleby and Elizabeth and Matthew McGahey.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 18th at 11 AM at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 West Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078 with Rev. Dr. David Harris officiating. Family and friends are invited for viewing from 10 AM until time of the services. Burial will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society, 128 Lucy Avenue, Hummelstown, PA 17036.
