GERALD M. ERB

Gerald M. Erb, 95, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, September 5th, 2014 at the Masonic Village.

The oldest of six boys, Jerry was born on a farm in East Petersburg, PA to the late Rudy Herr and Anna Leah (Musser) Erb.

Jerry was and Army Air Corp veteran of WWII and Korea, and retired as a Sergeant from the United States Air Force after 22 years of service. He also retired from Elizabethtown College where he worked as the sports equipment manager. In his retirement he was employed as the custodian of the Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren where he was a member.

Surviving are: his wife of 69 years Sara Jane (Becker) Erb; daughter Donna L. Erb and husband David George of Elizabethtown; grandson Brent M. and wife Anna (Kann) Erb of Birdsboro; and three brothers: Rudolph H. Erb and J. Lyle Erb of Elizabethtown, and Orie K. Erb of Mt. Joy. He was preceded in death by two siblings: Glenn M. Erb and Allen M. Erb.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service to celebrate Jerry’s life on Wednesday, September 17 ^th at 10:30 am at the Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren. Interment will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be sent to the Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren, 777 S. Mt. Joy Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
