Genevieve E. (Baker) Neideigh

January 1, 1932 — November 5, 2021

Genevieve E. (Baker) Neideigh, 89, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Friday, November 05, 2021, at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital.  Born Friday, January 1, 1932, in Conewago Township, she was the daughter of the late Paul M. and Esther (Aldinger) Baker, being the eldest of eight.  Genevieve has 6 surviving siblings. She was married to Gerald R. Neideigh for over 50 years until his death on Monday, October 2, 2000.

Genevieve was a member of Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren.  She started her work life in the dress factory but her family was her greatest blessing. She also cared for others’ children for over 30 years!  Later she tackled the weeds in the flower beds so zealous to this task she missed the beauty she was caring for.  She had a great sense of humor and loved the crossword puzzles in the newspaper and was known for her tenacity in a Scrabble game. She appreciated all who crossed her doorstep, welcoming everyone with a smile and graciousness we should all emulate.

She is survived by three children: Gary L. Neideigh, married to Kim, Susan L. Neideigh, married to Rusty Acker and Michael A. Neideigh, married to Kim, all of Elizabethtown.  Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters: Jodi M. Neideigh and Carol N. Weaver.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, November 15, 2021, in West Green Tree Cemetery, Elizabethtown.  Arrangements have been entrusted with the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022, 717-367-1543.
