Geneva B. (Fordemwalt) Gingrich
Geneva Blanch (Fordemwalt) Gingrich, 90, of Palmyra, passed away at home on Friday, May 9, 2014. She was born Tuesday, June 12, 1923 in Kansas City, MO to the late Amos and Jeanetta (Lewis) Fordemwalt. She was predeceased by her loving husband Kenneth R. Gingrich in 1989.
Geneva retired as a secretary from the Department of Agriculture. She was a faithful member of Palmyra First United Methodist Church. She was a longtime member of the Women’s Club of Lebanon; she was also a past president of the Palmyra and Lebanon County Women’s Club. She was an avid collector of rabbit and deer collectables and of coins. Most importantly she was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.
She is survived by 3 sons, Kenneth R. Gingrich, Jr. and wife Barbara of Lansdale, Steven D. Gingrich and wife Elaine Torrance of Palmyra, and Kerry L. Gingrich and wife Danielle of Houston, TX; a daughter, Laura L. Gingrich of Palmyra; 5 grandchildren, Julie Meilak and husband Brad of Melbourne, Australia, Jeffrey Gingrich of Wyomissing, and Amanda, Rebecca, and Jennifer Torrance of Palmyra; a sister Betty Kron of Tulsa, OK; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Amos and Andy Fordemwalt.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 15th at Noon at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 with Reverend Samuel Fry officiating. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 11 AM until time of the service. Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
