Gary Leon Summy

Gary L. Summy, 70, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully in his home with family by his side on Saturday, April 25, 2015.  He was born one of thirteen children to the late John C. and Martha M. (Krady) Summy on Sunday, October 29, 1944 in Hershey.  He is survived by his loving wife Eileen Hope (Heckman) Summy.

He is survived by a daughter, Janet E. O’Boyle and husband John; a son, Robert L. Summy and wife Amy; 6 grandchildren; and 2 great-granddaughter.

Gary was a retiree from the H.B. Reese Company and a faithful member of Palmyra First United Methodist Church.  He was a lifetime member of Citizens Fire Company #1, Palmyra.  He enjoyed sitting on his porch watching the birds and looking at his flowers.  Most importantly he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 2 ^nd at 2 PM at Palmyra First United Methodist Church, 520 E. Birch St., Palmyra 17078 with Pastor David Harris officiating.  Family and friends are invited for visitation from 1PM until time of the service.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to St. Jude’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
