Franklin R. “Frank” Straub Sr.
Franklin R. “Frank” Straub Sr., 79, of Annville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 30, 2015 at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey. He was born March 12, 1935 in Palmyra to the late Herbert and Maime (Flory) Straub. He was predeceased on April 16, 2013 by his loving wife of over 56 years, Patricia A. (Henning) Straub.
A Veteran of the Korean Conflict, Mr. Straub proudly served with the US Army. Frank retired from M.S. Hershey Medical Center where he worked as a security officer for over 17 years. In his earlier years, he worked for Smith Dairy, Palmyra. He enjoyed roller skating, and along with his wife, helped manage Mt. Gretna Roller Rink. He also attended Lebanon Valley Bible Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Cynthia A. Winfindale and husband Norman “Tom” of Hummelstown, Jody L. Greiner, of Annville; two sons, Frank R. Straub Jr. and wife Marci, of Harrisburg, Ken R. Straub of Grantville; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and two sisters, Nellie Hainly, of Elizabethtown and Lucy Straub, of Palmyra. He was predeceased by a daughter, Sherry L. Straub.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 11 AM at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 with Pastor John B. Hunt officiating. Family and friends are invited for viewing from 10 AM until time of the service. Burial will follow in Campbelltown United Christian Cemetery, Campbelltown.
