Fran Campbell (FrancesFay), 73, loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully at home on July 20 after a one-year-plus battle with cancer. Fran was well known in the community, having been inducted into the 2022 class of the Lebanon County Women’s Hall of Fame for her community leadership and service. She was the daughter of Oliver “Capp” Eichner and Jean (Funck) Eichner of Sunbury, PA.  She was raised by her great aunt and uncle, Faye and Catherine Herb of Northumberland, PA following the untimely death of her father. She is survived by her husband, Keith S. Campbell of Palmyra; her son, Troy Keith Campbell of Gettysburg; her daughter, Leanne Frances Berget, husband Todd Howard Berget, and granddaughters Norah Leanne Berget and Marin Catherine Berget of Gambrills, MD; her brother, Charles Eichner and wife Marsha of Selinsgrove; and her sister, Karen Jean DeSante and husband Stephen of Huntington. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian “Mickey” Eichner.

Fran was a 1968 graduate of Shikellamy High School, the Gale Airline Institute, and the Ethel Williams School of Needle Arts. She was employed by The First National Bank of Sunbury; Wang Laboratories, Latham, NY; Albany Medical Center, Albany, NY; Pennsylvania Public Television Network, Hershey, PA; Hershey’s Chocolate World, Hershey, PA; and hospitality businesses in the Sunbury and Hershey areas. She was well known in central PA as an instructor in the needle arts, trained and managed a sales organization of several hundred sales associates, and served on the President’s Council of the Creative Circle in Los Angeles, CA. Fran taught children’s Sunday school classes, was a church youth counselor, and taught cooking classes for widowers. She was the citizen chairperson for the development of Palmyra’s Southeast Park, assisted in the development of Heritage Park, and was the primary fundraiser and project manager for the construction of the Palmyra Town Square. She served many years on the boards of Palmyra Interfaith Manor and Palm View Housing. She is a past president of the Palmyra Garden Club and shared her green thumb and gardening skills with her family and community. For her community involvement, she was recognized in 2022 by the Lebanon County Women’s Hall of Fame with commendations from the Governor, state & federal House & Senate members, and local officials.

Despite all of her accomplishments, her priorities were always as a wife, mother and grandmother, and she will be sorely missed by her family. A Christian Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, July 29, 2024, followed immediately by lunch and a time to greet the family, at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home in Palmyra, PA.
