Fern (Smith) Wagner

Fern (Smith) Wagner, 90, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, January 22, 2017 in the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home Hostetter Greenhouse.  She was born Saturday, December 4, 1926 in Palmyra to the late Elvin S. and Verna (Wilhelm) Smith.  She was predeceased by her loving husband Russel S. Wagner in 2004.

Fern was a faithful member of Gravel Hill United Methodist Church and was active in their choir.  She also sang in the Palmyra Community Chorus.  Fern enjoyed making ceramics, was an active golfer, enjoyed bowling, and was an avid shopper.  Most importantly she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

She is survived by 2 sons, Dennis L. Wagner and wife Eleanor and Dale R. Wagner and wife Stephanie; 6 grandchildren, Matthew Wagner and wife Lisa, Timothy Wagner and wife Amanda, Andrew Wagner and wife Melissa, Sarah DeWire and husband Bryan, Gregory Wagner and wife Donna, and Kristen Fackler and husband Clinton; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Gail Trowbridge and husband Gary; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a sister, Doris Patrick.

Family and friends are invited for viewing on Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 6-8 PM at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 11 AM at Gravel Hill United Methodist Church, 131 Gravel Hill Rd., Palmyra 17078.  Family and friends are invited for viewing from 10 AM until time of the service.  Burial will follow services in Gravel Hill Cemetery.
