Evelyn M. (Trimble) Shertzer

Evelyn M. “Evie” Shertzer, 87, of Lancaster, died Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Masonic Healthcare Center, Elizabethtown. Born September 13, 1924 in Lancaster, she was the youngest daughter of Earl J. and Mary L. (Hoerner) Trimble.
After graduating from McCaskey High School in 1942, Evie worked for Bell Telephone before marrying Richard Shertzer, also of Lancaster and starting a family. She was a caring wife, mother and homemaker, who will also be remembered as an avid golfer. She also loved to fish and travel.
Evie is survived by her husband Dick of 62 years; a son Rick, husband of Nancy of Hummelstown; son Randy of Collegeville, a granddaughter Emily, grandson Richard, husband of Amy; and two great grandsons Hayden and Benjamin. She was preceded in death by her brother Earl J. Trimble and sister Katherine Shubrooks, both formerly of Lancaster.
Services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
