Eva Blanche (Hammons) Myers, 95, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Willow Street, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 20, 2024. She was born in Shouns, TN on Sunday, November 4, 1928 to the late James M. and Alice Verona (Stuart) Hammons. She is predeceased by her husband, Hubert “Sock” G. Myers.
Eva was a longtime member of the Lampeter UMC and a current member of St. Paul’s UMC, Elizabethtown both churches of which she was very active. In addition to being active with her church she also volunteered for Hospice and Meals on Wheels. Eva’s working career included being an Avon Representative and a US Postal employee. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, crafts, and golfing. Eva was also a great writer and poet including writing her family history. More than anything she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and sister.
She is survived by her children: Gregory A. Myers and wife Carol and Debra J. Fritchman and husband David; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Kevin Adams and wife Sharon and their children and grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her daughter: Carol Adams, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, and 1 great-grandchild.
A viewing will be held on Monday, July 29, 2024 from 5-7 PM at the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home, & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022. Burial will take place on Tuesday, July 30th at 10 AM at the Quarryville Cemetery, Quarryville. A memorial service will be held after the burial at noon at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 398 N. Locust St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Helping Hands Fund (for employee assistance) at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. 1 Masonic Dr., Elizabethtown, PA 17022
