Esther grew up on the Glessner family farm during the depression years of the 1930’s. She moved to Hummelstown as a young adult and joined the Hershey Chocolate factory in the Hand Wrapping department. She later worked in food service at the Palmyra Twin Kiss where she became well known to its customers and high school workers over many years. After retiring from work she loved to work in her backyard, but was especially known for her cooking and baking skills. Her fruit pies were eagerly requested by family and friends. She also made chicken pot pie dinners to distribute to family members and friends. For many years she would donate baked goods to Campbelltown Fire Company’s fund raising events. Esther loved to stay in contact with her friends and family through cards and letters on birthdays and other hallmark occasions. She loved family gatherings, especially to see her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Esther was a long time member of the Campbelltown UM Church.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, funeral services will be private for the immediate family with burial at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
