Ervin C. Hamme
Ervin Cleveland Hamme, 87, of Elizabethtown, passed away with family by his side on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown. He was born April 23, 1925 in Paradise, PA to the late Ervin and Jennie (Leib) Hamme. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Nadine V. (Neff) Hamme.
Ervin was a high school graduate of Milton Hershey Industrial School, and furthered his education with a Bachelor degree from Penn State University. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps in World War II. He retired from the Hershey Chocolate Company after almost 25 years of dedicated service. Ervin was a member of the Brownstone Masonic Lodge 666 and of the Harrisburg Consistory. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and loved dining out with friends and family. Most importantly he was a loving husband, father, and Pop Pop.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Jay Hamme and wife Lori of McGregor, TX; 3 daughters, Jayne Meischker and husband Ronald of Somers Point, NJ, Jenni Fackler and husband Jay of Harrisburg, Jill Hamme of Palmyra; 2 grandsons, Joel Fackler, Scott Hamme; and a sister Pauline Sipling of York. He was predeceased by 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, November 13th at 1:00 PM at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078, with Rev. David Tietje officiating. Family and friends are invited for visitation from noon until time of the service. Burial will follow with full military honors in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
