Erminio Vincent Zumbo, 86, of Palmyra, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2013 in The Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He was born Wednesday, June 2, 1926 in Steelton to the late Carmelo and Fortunata (Forte) Zumbo. He is survived by his loving wife Margaret A. (Ditzler) Zumbo.
He is survived by a daughter, Marie Mackowick and husband Frank of Annapolis, MD; a son, Charles Zumbo and wife Donna of Harrisburg; 3 grandchildren, Kristen Mackowick and fiancé Derek Bristow, Kevin Mackowick, and Téa Lynn Zumbo; a sister, Theresa Cortelazi and husband Edward. He is predeceased by a sister, Mafalda Catalano.
Erminio proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked as an Industrial Electrician for the U.S. Government. He was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit and the American Legion Post 72. Erminio was a general handyman, happiest when he was fixing “stuff” and working on his cars. He will be remembered by his caregivers for his love of coffee and cookies. Most importantly he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Memorial Services will be held Thursday, March 28th at 11 AM at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 with Father James F. Podlesny officiating. Burial will take place in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Church of the Holy Spirit, 245 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078 or to The Good Samaritan Fund, 1200 Grubb Rd., Palmyra.
