Elvira “Vera” (Paglione) Francavilla
After a very full life of 98 years, Elvira “Vera” (Paglione) Francavilla, formerly of Harrisburg, passed away peacefully on her birthday, Saturday, December 17 at the residence of her son and daughter-in-law in Elizabethtown where Vera lived for the last five years.
Born on December 17, 1918 in Bristol, PA, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Marie (Sozio) Paglione. She was married to the late Albert J. Francavilla, Sr. for nearly 60 years until his death on July 31, 2002.
Vera was a co-owner of the former Al & Gene’s Café in Harrisburg.
Surviving are a daughter, Gloria J. Burke (J. Edward) and a son, Albert J. Francavilla, Jr. (Lucy), both of Elizabethtown. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Mark Burke (Barb), Jill Gilbert (Matt), Jennifer Francavilla; a step-granddaughter, Kelsey Guerry and three great grandchildren: Logan, Eric and Jessica. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Palma Larson and a brother, Dominic Paglione.
In keeping with Vera’s wishes, private interment will be at the convenience of the family in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022, 717-367-1543.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution’s may be made in Vera’s honor to Grane Hospice, 4 Lemoyne Drive, Lemoyne, PA 17043, who the family extends special thanks for their loving care.
