Elmer Shank, Jr., 78, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Hamilton Arms Nursing Center in Lancaster. Born in Mount Joy Twp., he was the son of the late Elmer and Martha C. (Leedy) Shank. He was the husband of the late Pearl I. (Cumpson) Shank.
Elmer was retired from Energy Saving Insulation. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, #596, Elizabethtown. Elmer enjoyed racing cars, working on small engines, NASCAR, hunting and fishing, going to the mountains and playing guitar.
He is survived by four children: Sharon, wife of Thomas Briel, Bainbridge; Mary, wife of Ken Keener; Charles, husband of Sabrina Shank; and John, husband of Kelly Shank, all of Elizabethtown; nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; a sister Esther Stockum; and three brothers: Jacob, husband of Patricia Shank, Glenn, husband of Jean Shank and Melvin, husband of Darlene Shank.
Elmer was preceded in death by two sons Brian and George; two sisters Ada May Finefrok and Grace Keinard, and a brother George Shank.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 24, 2012 at Miller/Sekely Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown at 11:00 AM. Friends may call on Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM and on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place in Goods Cemetery, Elizabethtown.
