Elizabeth M. “Betty” Berrier, 102, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Masonic Village in Elizabethtown. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Meminger) Butzer. She was married 70 years to Mark L. Berrier who died in 2001.
Betty was a life long member, and was the oldest member of Christ Church United Church of Christ in Elizabethtown. She was also member of the Order of Eastern Star, #407, Elizabethtown for over 65 years, and a former member of the Elizabeth Hughes Society and War Mothers. Betty had a great sense of humor and loved to dance and play cards. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and traveling, especially to Stone Harbor, NJ and Perry County.
Betty had been employed by the Hamilton Watch Company and RCA, where she worked as a quality control inspector.
Surviving are three daughters: C. Patricia (widow of Clifford A.) Adams, Mount Joy; Christine E. (Paul) Baker, Elizabethtown and Arlene J. (J. Allen) Myer, Elizabethtown; two sons: M. Gordon (Doris) Berrier, Elizabethtown and James M. (Sherry) Berrier, Carlisle; 20 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by a son Donald J. Berrier and six brothers and sisters.
A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from Christ Church United Church of Christ, 247 South Market Street, Elizabethtown at 11:00 AM. Viewing will be held at Miller-Sekely Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 PM and on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place in Milton Grove Cemetery, Elizabethtown.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Masonic Village Hospice, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 or to Christ Church United Church of Christ, 247 South Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
