Eleanor K. Stroud, 83 of Elizabethtown, formerly of Broomall, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2013 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Eleanor (Beitzel) Mullin. She was the wife of the late Warren L. Stroud, Jr. who died in 1978.
Eleanor was an avid traveler and especially enjoyed exploring the US with her sister, Anna Mae, on long car trips across the country.
That same sense of adventure carried over into her love of cooking. She loved to experiment in the kitchen and was an amazing home chef. She enjoyed watching the Food Network and had an extensive cookbook collection. She instilled her love of cooking in her family and spent countless hours cooking with and for them.
Eleanor also was passionate about animals. She was a strong believer in animal rescue and found great joy in a lifetime of pets. She was particularly fond of cats and dogs and always surrounded herself with cherished pets.
Eleanor was also a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Broomall.
She will be lovingly missed by her four children: Kathryn L., wife of Daniel Milligan, Elizabethtown; Caryl Ann, wife of Robert Mack, Hillsborough, NJ; Linda M., wife of Robert Rice, Honeybrook; Susan L., wife of James Meyer, Collegeville; a sister Anna Mae Breslin, Turnersville, NJ; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at the John S. Sell Memorial Chapel, Masonic Village, Elizabethtown at 10:00 AM. Viewing will be from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place in Whitemarsh Memorial Gardens, Ambler at 1:30 PM.
