Edwin Boll, 90, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the Masonic Village of Elizabethtown.

He was born on Saturday, February 9, 1924 in Elizabethtown to the late Edwin M. and Eva (Shank) Boll.

Mr. Boll was a graduate of Elizabethtown Area High School and Elizabethtown College. He retired after 39 years of service from Armstrong Industries as Chief Chemist.

As a decorated WW II Veteran of the United States Army, Mr. Boll fought in the Battle of Bulge, and was the recipient of two Purple Hearts.

He was a very active 80 year member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church of Elizabethtown. In his younger days he played semi-pro baseball and was well known throughout the area for his playing ability. He enjoyed being an amateur photographer.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years Minerva (Hess) Boll, a daughter Deborah J. Hinton and her husband David of Lima, NY, two sons Dennis M. Boll and his wife Carmen of Greer, SC, Charles L. Boll and his wife Julie of Clam Gulch, Alaska, nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters Mildred Miller and Betty Weaver.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Elizabethtown. Burial will be at 10am on Monday, July 21, 2014 at Grandview Memorial Park, Annville.

Viewing will be from 2pm until 3pm on Sunday, July 20, 2014 in the church.
