Edward J. Parana

Edward James Parana, 76, of North Cornwall Township, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side, on Monday, October 6, 2014.  He was born in Wilcox, PA to the late John and Anna (Bedner) Parana.  He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Gayle A. (Koza) Parana.

He retired in 1997 as an equipment operator for National Fuel Gas Company following 35 years of faithful service.  He was a member of St. Callistus Church, Kane Elks Club and Kane Country Club.  His ever-present smile reflected his kind nature and zest for life.  He loved his family beyond measure and will be missed dearly.

He is survived by two daughters, Debra Trask and husband David, and Janet Ewing; a son, Eric Parana and wife Kim; eleven grandchildren, Andrew, Austin, Peter Trask, Lydia, Naomi Ewing, Michael, Max, Elle, Evan, Alan and Ian Parana; two sisters, Betty Agens and Caroline Swedenhjelm.  He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Douglas Ewing; three brothers, John, Andrew and William Parana; two sisters, Margaret Constable and Irene Peterson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 13th at 11 AM at the St. Callistus Roman Catholic Church, 342 Chase Street, Kane, PA 16735 with Father Philip Pinczewski as Celebrant.  Family and friends are invited for visitation from 10 AM until time of the service at the church.  Burial will follow in St. Callistus Cemetery, Kane.   Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 has been entrusted with the arrangements.
