Edward E. Jones

Edward Eugene Jones, 87, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 28, 2014 in Community General Osteopathic Hospital. He was born Saturday, October 23, 1926 in Ashtabula, OH to the late William and Martha (Emery) Jones. He is survived by his loving wife Janet (Garrison) Jones.

Ed proudly served our country in the US Navy. He was employed as a metallurgical engineer at TRW Inc. and Howmet, he also worked as a professional photographer for many years. Ed loved working in his garden, his family affectionately referred to him as “Farmer Jones.” He enjoyed flying in his personal aircraft and broadcasting on his Ham Radio. Most importantly he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Jennifer Jones and husband Mark Zmijewski and Lori Jones; 3 step-children, the late Gary Brown and wife Deb, Mary Hiester and husband Richard, and Glen Brown and wife Barbara; 4 grandchildren, Jeremy, Eric, Phillip, and Chase, a great-grandaughter, Brittny; a sister, Donna Austin; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Paul Jones.

Family and friends are invited for viewing from 10-11 AM with a funeral service at 11 AM at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 West Pine St., Palmyra 17078, with Donald Landis officiating. Burial will follow in Grantville Cemetery, Grantville.
