Edward A. Billman, 86, of Mount Joy passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 13, 2025. Ed was born in Loysville, PA. He was the son of the late George L. and Virginia (Hench) Billman.
Ed was a hard worker, spending 45 years at J.B. Hostetter & Sons Hardware Store in Mount Joy and prior to that, 23 years with Gulf Oil. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and a mason at Abraham C. Treichler Lodge, No. 682. Ed was always there for others, no matter the need. Anyone who knew him knew how devoted he was to his family and friends; knew the way he delighted in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and how much he loved talking with people. He truly had the gift of gab! He also enjoyed hunting, skiing, doing yard work and visiting the beach. In honor of his late wife, Glenda, he organized a community blood drive at J. B. Hostetter & Sons which has run from 1998 to present. It is so successful that in January 2026, it will move from being held every 8 weeks to once a month.
He is survived by three children, Brian E. Billman (Stephanie), Amy S. Strong, and Elizabeth A. Mosteller (Todd); four grandchildren, Adam. D. Marsh (Samantha), Natalie E. Shiiba (John), Samantha J. Strong (fiance’ Stephen), and Thomas S. Strong (Faith); four great-grandchildren, Owen, Connor, Bella, and Emilia; two siblings, Judith Morrow and Thomas Billman; along with seven nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Glenda J. Billman, along with his parents.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life visitation which will be held on Friday, November 21 from 10:00-11:15 AM with a mini service from 11:15-11:30 AM at Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022. Interment will be a private graveside memorial for family in Loysville, PA.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating blood (or money) to Central PA Blood Bank or at the bi-monthly blood drives at J. B. Hostetter & Sons, 1225 West Main Street, Mount Joy, PA 17552, or support whichever blood bank is closest to you!
