EDNA M. LANDIS

Edna Mumma Hoover Landis, 108, of Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim, PA, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Pleasant View.

She was born on October 3, 1904 in Mount Joy Township, the oldest of 11 children to the late David H. and Mary (Hawthorne) Koser.

Edna and her first husband, Paul G. Mumma, Sr., served as house parents at Milton Hershey School for a number of years and owned and operated the Clearview Diner for 50 years.

She was a member of both Grace Brethren Church and West Green Tree Church of the Brethren both of Elizabethtown. Edna enjoyed sharing time with her many friends, attending devotions, doing crafts, watercolor, baking, playing BINGO, playing the piano and scrabble.

She was the widow of Paul G. Mumma, Sr., Elmer W. Hoover and A. Roy Landis.

Surviving are her three sons Laverne K. Mumma and his wife Jackie of Greenville, SC, Stanley K. Mumma, Sr. of Elizabethtown, Paul G. Mumma, Jr. and his wife Betty of Lancaster, her brother Wilbur Koser of Maytown, her three sisters Dorothy Frazer of Chambersburg, Erma Kreider of Manheim, Jean Fisher of Elizabethtown, her 12 grandchildren, her 27 great grandchildren and her eight great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Miriam N. Mumma, her two brothers Victor Koser, David Koser, her four sisters Mary Martin, Fannie Burkwalter, Florence Gibble and Esther Aldinger.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, August 10, 2013 in the Chapel at Pleasant View Retirement Community. Burial will be in West Green Tree Cemetery.

Viewing will be from 10am until 11am on Saturday in the Chapel of Pleasant View Retirement Community.
