Earl H. Wagner, of Palmyra, PA, went home to Jesus in the early morning of February 18, 2022 after recently celebrating his 88th birthday. Earl was born to Grant A. and Martha Grace (Scheetz) Wagner on February 3rd, 1934. A lifelong resident of Palmyra, Earl dedicated his life to working hard for Landis Shoe Factory, Cornwall Ore Mines, and the Milard’s Limestone Quarry, before settling into the Bethlehem Steel Company under the guidance of supervisor and eventual close friend Don Barry. Throughout his life, he had an unwavering faith in God and was a parishioner of First United Methodist Church for the majority of his life.

Earl met his beloved wife Anna Lee Booher Wagner after agreeing to accompany a friend on a road trip down to Tennessee. The two married in 1956 and went on to have two sons; Allen and William. In addition to spending time with his family in the backyard playing croquet, Earl was an avid bowler. He was a proud citizen of Palmyra, attending numerous community events such as church festivals and high school basketball and baseball games.

Preceding him in death are his parents, his wife, brother James “Jim” Wagner and sister Gladys Wagner Annibali. Surviving are sons Allen and his wife Diane, William “Bill” and wife Jennifer: grandchildren Luke (and his wife Alexis), Ashley (and her husband Christopher Bangi), Marie, Alexandra “Alex”, Kyle, and Alyssa; great grandchildren Christopher, Caseley, Elias, and Olivia; and many nieces and nephew including beloved nephew David Annibali.

Romans 8: 38-39: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angles nor demons, neither the present for the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us for the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 11 AM at the First United Methodist Church, 520 E. Birch St., Palmyra, PA 17078 with Pastor James Anderman officiating. A time of viewing will take place from 10 AM until the start of the service. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
