Earl Francis Pickel, 88, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Masonic Village. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Benton B. and Mildred F. (Kiser) Pickel. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Carole (McGuire) Pickel.
Earl was an active member of St. Peter Catholic Church as a Eucharist minister and a member of the men’s club. He was also a Mason with Abraham C. Triechler Lodge No. 682, F&AM. Earl was a proud army veteran who served during the Korean War.
He was very musically inclined and enjoyed playing the saxophone and guitar. Earl also liked to stay active by running, biking, playing racquetball, going to the beach, riding his motorcycle, and earning a 2nd degree black belt in karate. Another passion of his was collecting model Corvette cars and owning his own white T-top.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Linda Crabb and husband Michael, Doug Pickel and significant other Valerie Kennon, and Greg Pickel; three grandchildren, Bria, Cecilia, and Delilah; sister, Annette Schnee and husband Wesley, and sister-in-law Kathleen Sajda.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 30th at 11AM at St. Peter Catholic Church, 904 Mill Rd., Elizabethtown, PA 17022. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 9AM until the start of the mass.
