Earl L. Derr
December 13, 1926 — July 18, 2024
Earl L. Derr, 97, of Salunga, formerly of Marietta, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at the VA Medical Center in Lebanon. Born Monday, December 13, 1926 in Florin, he was the son of the late Albert and Carrie (Flowers) Derr. He was the husband of Grace E. (Weaver) Derr who passed away in November 2003.
Earl was a US Army veteran of WWII. He retired from Bear Creek where he was a heavy equipment mechanic. He enjoyed racing cars and restoring Volkswagens. Earl was also a gifted handyman. He also enjoed hunting and going to the mountains with his brother.
Surviving are four children: Earl L. Derr, Jr. (Norma) of Dayton, OH; Robert L. Derr (Barbara) of Manning, SC; Yvonne G. Baughman of Bainbridge and Pamela Derr-Crawford (Paul Crawford) of Mount Joy; 18 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and one brother, Harold Derr.
Earl was predeceased by four siblings.
Service and interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Contributions in Earl’s memory may be made to Lebanon VA Hospice, 1700 South Lincoln Avenue, Lebanon, PA 17042.
