E. Jeanne Dysart
Jeanne (Long) Dysart, 91, of Elizabethtown passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016 at Juniper Village in Mount Joy. Born in Lansdale, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Clark S. and Helen B. (Johnson) Long. She was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart, and husband of 69 years on April 1, 2016, Robert W. Dysart.
She was employed at Pennsylvania State University, working proudly as the first female projectionist. Jeanne spent her time volunteering at the Elizabethtown Library for over 30 years. She was a member of Christ Church United Church of Christ in Elizabethtown helping to prepare communion. After working in her early years during WWII, Jeanne and her husband started a family and she became a homemaker. She will be remembered as the ultimate mom, keeping the house, making meals, and being a loving wife. Always making sure her family was taken care of.
She is survived by two sons, Gary R. Dysart, husband of Judith B. of Lansdale, and David W. Dysart, husband of Janice S. of Orangeville, two grandsons Evan A. and Dana C. Dysart. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Brittin and Helen Deardorff.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022 with Reverend Dr. Frederick A. Young officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Tunnel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from Noon until 1:00 prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jeanne’s Church, Christ Church United Church of Christ, 247 S. Market St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
