D. Romaine Bair, 96, of Falls Church, VA, formerly of Bainbridge, passed away while surrounded by her family on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, VA. Born September 16, 1921 in Bainbridge, she was youngest of seven of the late William S. and Martha (Floyd) Bryan. She was widowed by her husband Victor Max Bair in 1992.

A life-long football fan, she was devoted for many years to the Baltimore Colts (and her idol Johnny Unitas), and later, the Washington Redskins. She faithfully attended Elizabethtown Area High School football games from a young age until well into her eighties, and was honored by the Central Penn Piranha as their #1 Fan in 2003.   She was legendary for her pumpkin pies, her sense of humor, and deep love and devotion to her family.

She lived independently in Bainbridge until the age of 91, at which time she moved to an assisted-living facility near three of her daughters in Falls Church, VA.

She is survived by four daughters, Judy K. Weidman of Pine City, NY; Deborah A. Bair of Reston, VA; Pamela J. Nestell (James) of Alexandria, VA, and Vicki B. Lindsay (Geoff) of McLean, VA; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, and the Libhart-Dyer American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, both of Bainbridge.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2PM on Friday, October 27, 2017 at Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022, with Pastor Emily Styer officiating. A viewing will be held from 1-2 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Bainbridge Cemetery.
