Dr. Jennifer R. Miller, 50, of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on October 1, 2022 following a courageous battle with cancer.  Jennifer was born on June 8, 1972 in Ithaca, New York.  She was a loving wife, caring friend, gifted teacher, and widely respected pediatrician.

Jennifer graduated from Cornell University in 1994, with a B.S. degree in Biological Sciences. She continued on to receive her medical degree from the State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse.  Jennifer completed her pediatric residency at Hershey Medical Center in 1998 and become a faculty member in 2001.  She was Associate Professor of Pediatrics and served as the Director of the Newborn Nursery and an Associate Director for the Pediatric Residency Program.  Passionate about education, Jennifer received Top Educator recognition in the Department of Pediatrics for 11 consecutive years from 2011-2021.  For over 24 years she faithfully served patients, families, learners, and her community in Central Pennsylvania.

Outside of medicine, Jennifer enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, as well as her pets.  She enjoyed cooking meals with her husband, hiking outdoors, and traveling.  She was particularly fond of visiting national parks, her favorite being Grand Teton National Park.

Jennifer was preceded in death earlier this year by her mother, Peggy Hubbell, and is survived by her husband, Jason, and father, Jack Hubbell.  The family would like to thank Penn State Hershey Medical Center and Hospice & Community Care for their compassionate care of Jennifer.  They would also like to thank all of the family and friends for their support and prayers.

An informal gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at the Hershey Country Club, 1000 East Derry Road, Hershey, PA 17033.  Following Jennifer’s wishes, family, friends, and colleagues are welcome anytime between 10:00-2:00 to come and share fond memories and stories.

Gifts in lieu of flowers may be made in Jennifer’s memory to the “Dr. Jennifer Miller Pediatric Residency Diversity Fund”.  Gifts to this fund will be used to support diversity education and programming for the Penn State College of Medicine pediatric residency program.
