Dr. Jay L. Morris

Dr. Jay Lawrence Morris, 73, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 in M.S. Hershey Medical Center.  He was born Monday, July 20, 1942 in Sinnemahoning to the late Rev. Raymond Lester Morris and Helen (Twigg) Morris.  He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Carol Lynn (Blaker) Morris.

Dr. Morris graduated from the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1967 following his undergraduate studies at Lycoming College. Following graduation he was one of four individuals honored with an internship at Denver Chiropractic Hospital.  In 1969 he returned to PA and established his successful private practice at 725 Walnut Street in Lebanon, which relocated to 115 East Walnut Street in 2007.  He was highly regarded and respected in the field of chiropractic medicine; during his 46 years of private practice he received numerous decorations, awards and citations in the discipline.  He was a member of the International Chiropractors Association, PA Chiropractic Association, Lebanon County Chiropractic Society, Lebanon County Republican Committee, Past Chairman of Lebanon City Charter Commission, and Church of the Good Shepherd.  He was a past member of Lebanon Rotary, Lebanon Lions Club and Mt. Olivet Lodge #704 F. & A.M.  With all of his professional accomplishments, he was most proud of his family and cherished time spent with them.  He was active in the lives of his grandchildren, supporting their many accomplishments with his love and time.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by a son, Tadd Oliver Morris of Wilkes-Barre; a daughter, Cynthia (Morris) Lyons and husband Dr. Stephen E. Lyons of Palmyra; two grandchildren, Peyten Lynn Lyons and Stephen E. Lyons, II of Palmyra; three brothers, Rev. James Morris, Dr. Robert Morris and wife Ruth, and Rev. Raymond Morris, Jr. and wife Tammy; one sister, Mary Lou Suckling and husband Robert.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 12th at 11 AM at Church of the Good Shepherd, 1500 Quentin Road, Lebanon, PA 17042 with Rev. Alan Smith, Rev. James Morris, and Rev. Raymond Morris, Jr. officiating.  Family and friends are invited for visitation from 8:30 AM until time of the service.  Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.  Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 has been entrusted with the arrangements.
