Dorothy (Hemperly) Lutz

Dorothy (Hemperly) Lutz, 89, formerly of Palmyra, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at The Lebanon Valley Home in Annville. She was born Thursday, August 7, 1924 in Palmyra to the late Earl H. and Ellen R. (Riegel) Hemperly. She was predeceased by her loving husband Paul A. Lutz in 2003.

Dorothy was a faithful and lifetime member of Bindnagle Lutheran Church. She retired from the Hershey Company Technical Center where she worked for 24 years as a receptionist. Most importantly she was a loving mother.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Brenda and Barbara Lutz both of Lebanon; 4 nieces, Jeanette Yewdall of Palmyra, Laraine Hinton of Lancaster, Myra Hostetler of Palmyra, and Nancy Grubb of Arlington, VA; and a sister-in-law, Phoebe Lutz of Palmyra. She was predeceased by a sister, Pauline Grubb.

A memorial service will be held Monday, February 24th at 10 AM at Bindnagle Lutheran Church, 801 Gravel Hill Rd., Palmyra, 17078 with Rev. Dr. Roger Bucy officiating. Family and friends are invited for viewing on Sunday, February 23rd from 5-7 PM at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra. Burial will be in Bindnagle Cemetery at 9:30 AM on Monday, February 24th.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to her church.
