DOROTHY A. BENDER

Dorothy A. Bender, 85, of Conewago Township, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2014 at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center.

She was born on May 22, 1928 in Conewago Township, to the late Roy M. & Edna (Aldinger) Reiber. She was a graduate of Hershey High School.

Dorothy had been employed at Hershey Foods, the former Snavely’s Nursing Home, was a baker at Country Meadows Restaurant.

She was a member of Conewago Church of the Brethren, she was an excellent pie baker, and she enjoyed reading and sewing.

She was the widow of Kermit W. Bender.

Surviving are a son Karl J. Bender and his wife Deborah of Elizabethtown, five daughters Linda A. Bell and her husband Michael of Mount Gretna, Kathy R. Douglass of Campbelltown, Nancy J. O’Donnell and her husband Michael of Scottsdale, Arizona, Cheryl K. Booth and her husband James of Linglestown, Pamela J. Hertzog and her husband Thomas of Maytown, two sisters Ethel Gantz of Elizabethtown, Betty Ebersole of Palmyra, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Sunday, January 26, 2014 in the Conewago Church of the Brethren. Burial in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family.

Visitation will be from 2pm until 3pm on Sunday, January 26, 2014 in the church.
