Donald T. "Spike" Jones

Donald T. “Spike” Jones, 82, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Ebensburg, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Life Care Hospital, Mechanicsburg. Born in Johnstown, he was the son of the late George and Aretta (Noel) Jones. He was the husband of Evelyn L. (McGaughey) Jones. They were married for 58 Years.
Spike was retired from Bethlehem Steel in Johnstown. He was a Purple Heart recipient for wounds received while serving in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion in Ebensburg, and was an avid Steelers fan.
In addition to his wife Evelyn, he is survived by three daughters: Leslie A. (Lee) Clark, Levittown, PA; Kimberly D. (Timothy R.) Darnell, Indian Mound, TN; and Karen L. Mislanovich, Midland, TX; eight grandchildren: Angela Dannelley, Paul Cochran, Jr., Travis Cochran, Daniel Darnell, Timothy Darnell, Jr., Kaitlyn Darnell, Alison Mislanovich and Kelsey Mislanovich; and three great grandchildren: Molly, Sebastian and Loreal.
Spike was preceded in death by three brothers and his beloved dog, Rocky.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 24, 2014 at Miller-Sekely Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown at 2:00 PM. Viewing will be on Monday from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Interment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
