Dolores E. (Nickey) Shannon

Dolores E. (Nickey) Shannon, 89, formerly of Marietta, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2020, at Susquehanna Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Columbia. Born Saturday, June 21, 1930, in Milton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph F. Nickey and Margaret L. (Betzer) Kooney. She was married to Charles W. Shannon on February 14, 1948. Charles died on July 5, 2000.
She is survived by two granddaughters: Candy L. Nobile, of Wrightsville and Tammy J. Woods, wife of Christopher, of Manchester. Also surviving are three brothers: Joseph Nickey, Jr., of Milton, PA, Steve Nickey, married to Carol, of Marietta and David Nickey, married to Carol, of Glen Mills, PA; four great-grandchildren: Austin, Kenny, Brianna and Jordan, as well as Dolores’s extended family and caring friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Jean (Shannon) Flowers.
A Private Graveside Service will be held at the convenience of the family in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, Columbia. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Smedley-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 29 North Gay St., Marietta, PA 17547, 717-426-3614.
