Diana Kay (Horn) Wells, 83, of Elizabethtown, PA, passed away peacefully with family by her side on March 14, 2025. Born on July 31, 1941, in Paris, Illinois, to the late William Paul and Gladys Elaine (Pedigo) Horn.  She was predeceased by her loving husband, Dr. Lester W. Wells.

Diana led a life dedicated to nursing education and community service. Diana graduated from Barnes Hospital School of Nursing in 1962 and married Dr. Lester W. Wells in 1963. She furthered her education, earning a BSN from Indiana University in 1974 and an MSN from Villanova University in 1983.  As a faculty member and later director of the nursing program at Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC), Diana was instrumental in advancing Associate Degree nursing in Pennsylvania. She spearheaded the expansion of the AD program to Lancaster and Gettysburg campuses and established the practical nursing program and advanced LPN option. By her retirement in 2003, HACC's AD program had become the second-largest in Pennsylvania, known for producing high-quality nurses.  Diana's contributions extended beyond HACC. She worked on the PA Articulation Plan, NLN articulation committees, and served on the PA State Board Task Force on Continuing Education.

In her community, she was active on the Red Land Community Action board in Lewisberry, PA (now Family First Health), and was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Lewisberry and the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).  She loved reading, book club, traveling the world and tracing her family genealogy.  Diana's legacy as a nursing educator, community leader, and loving mother and grandmother will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.

Diana is survived by her daughters Susan Dunleavy, Barbara Grandusky (Mark), and Deborah Morita (Kenneth); grandchildren, Penelope Stables (Paul), Benjamin Buchter, Keomaikalani Morita, Emma Morita, Adam Grandusky, and Brynn Grandusky; great-grandchild, Matthew Stables; and sister Pamela Hall.
