Delores E. (Kupke) Smith

Delores E. (Kupke) Smith, 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Born Friday, September 4, 1931 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late William and Daisy (Chapman) Kupke. She was married to James W. Smith for over 54 years until his death on Monday, December 11, 2006.
Delores was an avid reader & enjoyed swimming & bargain hunting. At the age of 40 she obtained her nurses training at Jefferson University in Philadelphia. She worked in hospital and medical office settings, prior to that she was an accomplished hair stylist.
She is survived by a daughter, Arlene Hart-Van Hine and husband, Neal of Pocono Lake, Pa.; a son, James B. Smith and wife, Denise of Perkasie, Pa.; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022, 717-367-1543 with Chaplain Timothy A. Nickel officiating. Closed casket visitation will take place from 10 AM until the time of the service on Tuesday. Private burial will take place in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa. at the convenience of the family.
