David M. Stauffer, Jr.

David M. Stauffer, Jr., 63, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2014 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. Born in Harrisburg, he was the son of Helen (McLaughlin) Barrett of Camp Hill and the late David M. Stauffer, Sr. He was the husband of Rose Mary (Young) Stauffer of Elizabethtown. They were married for 33 years.
David retired after 30 years from Tyco, formerly AMP, Inc., where he was employed as an engineering supervisor. After retirement he worked as the Project Manager for Adult Education at Lancaster County Career and Technology Center.
A man of good humor, David had a passion for cooking and gardening, and enjoyed travelling, rock climbing and bicycling. He was an avid down hill and cross-country skier and worked as a ski patrol at Ski Roundtop in the 1970’s and 80’s. He was a member of the Susquehanna Ski Club and his favorite place in the world was Zermatt, Switzerland.
In addition to his wife Rose, David is survived by his mother, Helen Barrett and a brother Gary L. (Lynda) Stauffer.
He was preceded in death by his step-father James A. Barrett.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Miller-Sekely Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown at 11:00 AM. There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place in West Green Tree Cemetery, Elizabethtown.
