David C. Getty, 93, of Elizabethtown and formerly of Glen Mills, PA passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown.  He was married to Edna E. (Murphy) Getty for over 76 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Joyce Hallman, husband Robert, Carol Barnett, and Judith Leach, husband Richard, 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Gatling, as well as nieces, nephews, and caring friends.

“Dave” served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II as a Chaplain’s Assistant in Saipan/Okinawa and mainland Japan.  He retired from General Electric in 1985 as a Unit Manager, Philadelphia.

Dave was known for his beautiful baritone voice, and performed as the lead in several musicals and churches.  He also served many years on Ridley Park School Board.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11 AM, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 209 South Market Street, Mount Joy, PA  17552.  Visitation will follow the service on Saturday.  Private Interment will be in the Columbarium in Sell Chapel at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Miller-Sekely Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022.
