David Forti

David Forti, 50, of Palmyra passed away on Thursday, March 7th, 2013. He was born on August 7, 1962 in Lebanon to the late Roland F. Forti Sr. and Ludmilla (Trcka) Forti.

A graduate of Palmyra High School, David was an outstanding athlete. He excelled and was captain of his teams in football and wrestling and recognized for his abilities in football as linebacker and fullback. He was sought after by many colleges for football and he accepted a scholarship and played for Potomac State College in WV.  He also played Semi Pro Football for the Chambersburg Rams. He never lost his love for football.  He worked for many years in construction as a subcontractor specializing in drywall installation and as a general handyman.  He was known for his sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with family especially his nephew, Sonny and niece, Nicki. He will be missed by many friends and especially family.

He is survived by brothers Roland of Palmyra, Steven of Palmyra, Richard of Annville; sisters, Veronica Mundis and husband Charles of Newark, DE, Linda Berkheiser of Gibsonia; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Robert Berkheiser.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated for David and his mother Ludmilla on Saturday, April 6 ^th at 10 AM at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 245 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 with Father James F. Podlesny as Celebrant.  A private Burial will take place at a later date.
