Dale B. Lingle Sr., 62, of Annville, passed away after a long illness on Saturday September 14, 2024, in Harrisburg, PA. He was a devoted husband and loving father, brother, and uncle. Dale was born in Marysville, CA on May 24, 1962, to the late Katherine (Brightbill) Lingle and David Lingle. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Vicki L. (Strupp) Lingle
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son: Dale B. Lingle II; a sister Kimiko (Mike) Knowles; brothers, Lloyd Lingle and Scott Lingle; uncle, Carl (Wendy) Lingle; nephews and nieces, Cody and Dustin Knowles, Nicole (Shawn) Brandt, Kevin (Emily) Strupp, Brandon (Katie) and Eric Kolakowski, Ryan, Megan and Nick Early. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel S. Lingle, and a sister, Wendy Lingle.
Dale proudly served in the United States Navy from 1981 – 2001, retiring after 20 years of service. While enlisted in the Navy, he was an Aviation Electricians Mate and served in The Gulf War (Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm). He was most recently employed by Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin Company in Coatesville, PA, as a Helicopter Inspector. Dale was a member of Gravel Hill United Methodist Church, Palmyra VFW Post 6417, and Disabled American Veterans. He also volunteered his time as a bowling coach for many years and helped with tournaments at the Palmyra Bowling Alley.
Dale loved watching his son compete in high school and college track and cross country, and everyday life with his wife. He enjoyed game nights with family and friends and spending time with his dogs Shiloh and Rio. Throughout his life, his spare time was spent hunting, bowling, woodworking, playing candy crush and putting puzzles together.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 11 AM at the Gravel Hill United Methodist Church, 131 Gravel Hill Rd., Palmyra with Pastor Zimm officiating. A time of viewing will be held from 10 AM until the start of the service. Burial will follow the service at the Gravel Hill Cemetery, with full military honors.
