Cynthia “Cindy” June Gish, 74, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center. Born Tuesday, July 4, 1950 in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Edwin H. and Kathryn (Greenberger) Gish.

A 1968 graduate of Elizabethtown Area High School, she graduated from the Art institute of Pittsburgh in 1972. Cindy loved the arts, both visual and performing. She enjoyed performances at the Fulton, Dutch Apple and American Music Theaters. She loved all genres of music, bingo, history, crime stories, fashion and animals, especially dogs. Cindy was very active, a “go & do” person. She traveled all over, enjoyed the beach, going to movies and was active with the Elizabethtown Senior Center. Cindy was a volunteer at the Elizabethtown Fair for many years and will be remembered for winning many prizes from contests, especially on the radio.

Cindy was a 50 + year member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Elizabethtown and, also attended Faith Bible Church, Mount Joy. Additionally, she was a life member of the Elizabethtown Historical Society.

Cindy is survived by two sisters Lillian Rothwell of Elizabethtown and Marion Metzler (Eric) of Mount Joy, numerous nieces and nephews, and many, many close friends including Chuck Kuchar and Lucy Greiner-Hummel. She was predeceased by two sisters Kathryn Paone and Beverly Ulrich.

A celebration of Cindy’s life will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Faith Bible Church, 2075 Harrisburg Avenue, Mount Joy, PA 17552 at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place in Mount Joy Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Cindy’s memory may  be made to the Organization For Responsible Care of Animals at www.orcarescue.org.
